How we do what we do
Albertans that wish to have a private surgery experience must leave Alberta due to the provisions of the Canada Health Act.
We still want patients to have their care team close at hand before and after surgery. This is critical to ensure that patients are appropriately selected and prepared for surgery but also to ensure that they have their team available if they have trouble afterwards. It is simply not acceptable to have surgery and then be orphaned, miles away from the team you know and the very surgeon that knows exactly what they did. This is why we built an Alberta team for Alberta patients that travel together with you for surgery.
You will meet Dr. Henderson and make a plan together before you go anywhere. Also, you can have us do all your pre-operative investigations at home in Alberta. This allows us to create the best patient experience and still be the most cost effective private program in the country.
